Jackson

My name is Jackson Cole and I am a Mountain Runner! Or so they say.

The mountains came to me later in life, and I’m forever grateful that they did. I was a “City Kid” living in Wellington, New Zealand before I moved to Alamosa, Colorado for University. I ran  track and  field and  cross country at the powerhouse DII college Adams State. It was a move that introduced me to the world of mountain running and climbing. Being surrounded by the San Juans and Sangre De Cristo Ranges of Southern Colorado changed my life in a way I didn’t ever think possible, and I cannot imagine my life without it now.

As a coach, my number one goal is to share that joy of mountain movement with you, and to make sure that the mountains can be a place for adventure and exploration, as well as performance. Because moving “fast” through the mountains is the ultimate self expression, and something that truly changes lives. With me, you’ll learn to train effectively, in a way that supports the mind, body and soul. We’re humans, not robots, and I want that to be reflected in my training approach. I love high volume weeks and intense sessions that leave you on the ground gasping for air, but I also find great value in sitting on a rock on a long run listening to the wind brush through the trees. This is all a huge part of training and life, and the big days don’t happen without the chill ones. one does not happen without the other.
